12th Scan Results and Update - 9/18/26

The news this time around isn't great but I still have hope.
I have progression in a few lymph nodes, the same ones as last time, and now a pleural effusion in the lining of my lungs, which is just fluid buildup and indicates that cancer is present.
Based on this, I need to go off this clinical trial I'm on. Sad to say goodbye to Zanidatamab, I had high hopes for it, but just means this drug wasn't for me.
Now I'm moving onto a new treatment, hopefully one that works for a lot longer. Good news is there is a clinical trial at Mayo that just opened yesterday. I'll be moving onto a drug called Evorpacept, combined with Herceptin and an IV chemo called Eribulin.
Evorpacept is promising because it blocks the CD47 expression on cancer cells which basically says "don't eat me" to the immune system. By blocking this, it engages your immune system to attack those cells. The greater the expression the better the response but we just don't know how much I have of CD47 and whether it will work until we start to see results. But I have so much hope that this drug will work for me!
I was presented with a few standard of care options as well but decided to go with the trial because trials give me more time on top of standard of care and I don't want to miss out on a new promising drug. I'm just thankful to have options.
I also didn't have my regular infusion today so I'll be off any treatment until I start the trial likely sometime in the next month. I'm happy about this as I give my body a break from all these darn side effects.
I'll continue to move forward and just keep living my life. I've got fun things planned in the next couple months so I'm holding onto that and holding onto continued hope that something will work for me. It has to cause I plan to stick around for a long time! Cancer better get in line with that plan.
Onward we go to a new start, new journey and taking it one beautiful day at a time.
Thank you for all the well wishes, prayers and love. It means a lot.
Love, Stacy
