Wanted to do a quick post today to share the results from my 1st scan that was on 10/14.  Monday was my PET Scan in the morning, then lab work, tolerance to treatment appointment, 3 infusions and a Brain MRI to end the day.  What a long day it was! But so worth it to see how my tumors are responding to treatment!

I am so happy to share that the results were incredibly positive!!  There is about a 60% reduction overall in my body and my brain MRI was normal! At the beginning of all this, I had 3 lumps in my breast, about 14 lymph nodes, about 9 bones and too many areas to count in my liver.  Now I have only one small breast lump about 1cm remaining, 3 areas on my bones left, and No Evidence of Disease (NED) in the rest of my areas!! That means NED in my liver which is amazing!!  Dr. Lassi said I am having an excellent response to treatment! So much to celebrate with these huge wins!  These results give me a lot of hope for the future.  Hope that I will continue to see positive results over time and continue to stay that way for as long as possible!

Today in my appointment, I also got to see the before and after images from the scans.  It was crazy to see the before picture, where my entire liver was lit up on the scans as I had tumors everywhere.  Then to see the scans after where it was not lit up at all was amazing to see.  Makes me feel better too that I didn’t initially see those scans from the start.

As far as my treatment plan, that will remain the same.  I will finish up chemo around mid-December and continue Herceptin and Perjeta every 3 weeks.  I will then do another final scan in Dec., and continue doing scans every 3 or 4 months thereafter.

I am feeling relieved to know I am responding very well to treatment and things are turning around.  While I know NED still means the cancer is still there in a microscopic form, I am taking all these wins, because NED is the plan for a long time. I believe it and can feel it.

Appreciate all the support and love from everyone.  This was a big week for me.  I’m grateful for good news, grateful to be alive and grateful for today.

I will be making another post another day with details and pictures from the lovely walk at Mall of America on Saturday.  Wanted to get these results out there first. 😊

Love, Stacy
