Sharing the results from my latest scan. Overall, it is good news. I am not NEAD yet, but things seem to be stable and/or shrinking.
The breast lump on my right breast is slightly decreasing in size and metabolic activity
The tumor on my left pelvis that was still around on last scan is stable in size and decreasing metabolic activity
There was a finding however of a small nodule on my right breast that showed up on the scans, but not sure yet if this is cancer or just inflammation
There was also a finding of skin thickening in my left groin, but the test cannot determine what this exactly is, but likely inflammation
The great news is that my liver still looks clear, as well as the other areas of my bones!
My Brain MRI also came back normal!
Sharing the results from the PET/CT Scan below:
PET/CT FINDINGS: While there is decreased size/FDG uptake of the dominant lesion in the medial right breast which measures 1.2 x 0.6 cm (SUV max 7.4), previously 1.3 x 0.7 cm (SUV max 13.2), there is a smaller satellite nodule which abuts this nodule along the posterior lateral aspect with interval development of FDG uptake measuring 0.9 x 0.6 cm (SUV max 3.3, previously 0.8 x 0.4 cm with no increased uptake). Persistent although decreased uptake in the left posterior iliac bone metastasis (SUV max 2.9, previously 3.3). Interval development of a small focus of FDG-avid skin thickening in the left groin, which may be infectious/inflammatory, however is technically indeterminant (SUV max 9.9).
Overall I am feeling good about these results. I know I was hoping for NEAD, but stable and/or shrinking is just as good as it means there isn’t progression. I would like to understand more about this additional nodule though, and the skin thickening. I hope it is all just inflammation related, but I’m unsure until I meet back with Dr. Lassi next Tuesday and see what she has to say.
In the meantime, I will take these wins and celebrate the good news with my family in New Mexico later this week! Thank you for all the continued prayers and support, it means a lot to me.
