Sharing the results from my scan yesterday.
It's great news! The trial is working!
I'm so happy to share that my scans showed decreasing tumors in my lymph nodes, stable bone tumors and rest of the body is clear. My oncologist at Mayo said this was an outstanding response.
It's hard to explain in words how I feel, but to receive news like this brings such a relief and peace I've been craving for so long.
I know with metastatic disease things can take a turn for the worse at any moment, so any good news I celebrate and don't take for granted. Plus I know what the other side of that coin feels like as I've experienced such highs, then such lows.
But this time it's a high and this trial is doing what it needs to do. To know it's working on my tumors makes me incredibly grateful that I get to be on such a life saving drug.
I'm relishing in this moment, these scans, and cherishing the fact that I'll get more time to live, because that's what matters.
So onward we continue the path forward with Zanidatamab and Xeloda, making healing happen. I'll continue getting scans every six weeks to see the magic overtime.
My mom was able to join me for my scan day which made the day much easier. We ended up staying the night in Rochester since I have my infusion today.
Overall my quality of life is good on these drugs which I'm happy about. As far as side effects though, I have been experiencing horrible gut issues and severe diarrhea lately so my oncologist wants me to pause Xeloda for a week to get my body back to normal. Hopefullly things improve over time because the diarrhea has not been fun.
Thank you everyone for the thoughts and prayers. Truly appreciate all the good in my life and the people in it make everything better.
Love, Stacy
