Help find a cure to end breast cancer.
The reality is that women are still dying every day from this disease. There have been many advancements and treatments with breast cancer over the years, but we still don't have a cure.
Metastatic breast cancer is the only form of breast cancer you can die from, and a harsh reality for women living with this disease. 1 in 8 women will get breast cancer in their lifetime in the U.S., and 1 in 3 of those women diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer will become metastatic.
Breast cancer research can help bring new treatments that will save lives. For those of us living with breast cancer, this can mean turning what is an incurable, terminal disease, into one that is manageable and chronic.
So where should you donate?
METAvivor and VraniCURE are two of my top organizations. Both fund stage 4 breast cancer research, where only 2-5% of all funding goes.
METAvivor focuses solely on metastatic breast cancer research, support and awareness. Learn more about METAvivor at the link below.
VraniCURE is a local Minnesota organization, created by my friend Jacqueline Vranicar. VraniCURE's mission is to fund $50,000 annually for a dedicated metastatic breast cancer research grant in memory of our Thriver sisters who have passed.
A note on pink washing. Pink washing refers to using breast cancer ribbons, symbols or pink to promote a product asking for donations, but the money does not go directly to breast cancer research. Be wary of this and keep in mind where your money goes.
