I ended up receiving the results of my PET Scan this morning and I am happy to share that it’s great news!!

The results show the tumors shrinking and/or stable from last PET scan.  The breast tumor is reducing in size and there is only one tiny remaining spot left on my bone in my left hip.  The remaining areas have all gone away and the scan shows those areas as treated disease!  Sharing the actual interpretation from the radiologist below for more specificity:

IMPRESSION: In this patient with history of metastatic breast cancer, there is positive response:

1. Decreased size of the right breast mass and interval resolution of the adjacent smaller breast lesions.

 2. Near complete resolution of the FDG avid osseous disease with single mildly FDG avid lesion in the left iliac bone with uptake decreased from prior. The remainder of the sclerotic lesions throughout the axial and appendicular skeleton demonstrate uptake at the level of background representing treated disease.

3. Unchanged appearance of the liver with multiple non-FDG avid hypodensities representing treated disease.

I am incredibly happy and relieved with these results! I knew it was going to be positive, and I am ALMOST at a point where I can say I am “No Evidence of Active Disease.”  This drug is working for me and going to take this win and celebrate.  I feel like I could take a deep breath with some reprieve for a while!

As far as what’s next, I meet back with Dr. Lassi on 3/7 for a follow up appointment to review the results further. I’m assuming I won’t get much additional input, although would be great to hear her opinion, especially since I have only had about 2 ½ cycles so far, and wondering if this is an excellent response compared to many others.  I always want to know what the average is and if I am above or below that average (data and analytics nerd over here).  I also have an Echo scheduled for later this week to make sure my heart is working great (which I believe it is), so not too worried about that one.  Just a lot of fun appointments these days. Of course, will also continue to receive magical Enhertu every three weeks as well.

In other fun news – my mom is back in town 😊 And this week we plan to go see Jim Gaffigan the comedian and go to “The Price is Right” Live at Mystic Lake Casino.  Should be a good week of fun events to celebrate the good news.

With news like this, I don’t want to take it for granted, because a win means more time to live.  I know there won’t always be these wins and it’s important to have gratitude for the good news.  I still believe I can live a long a time, and that is still my goal and hope in all of this.  A win makes more of that possible for me.

Thank you to everyone for all the love and support, always.

Love, Stacy
